Iran to Establish Center of International Higher Education

EducationIRAN as an Obligation

Hailed as one of the most crucial necessities in Iran’s current higher education landscape, presence in various international educational arenas was emphasized numerously by representatives of each of the five key organizations.

As a program designed to manage and monitor the international aspects of Iran’s higher education, EducationIRAN has been developed to act as a platform, facilitating global higher education interactions including, though not limited to, student and faculty mobility, joint academic/research ventures, international projects.

Also, EducationIRAN was envisioned as the route through which Iran’s culture and heritage can be transferred to individuals, communities and societies around the world.

It has been emphasized that the practices revolving around the establishment, development and operation of EducationIRAN will not only put Iran on the map globally, but will also improve the status of domestic higher education and raise all standards.

A National Framework

One of the most central themes in the meetings held by the above-mentioned ministries and universities has been a constant emphasis on the fact that EducationIRAN has been created as, and is to remain, a national entity which will benefit universities and institutes of higher education in the near future. In effect, EducationIRAN is aimed to bring the international interactions of domestic universities together in an effort to present a unified image to the world.

In accordance with this spirit, the contributions of these five organizations, most importantly the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, has been requested.

Though still in its initial stages, EducationIRAN is being rapidly developed by utilizing all necessary and available resources, and, in the near future, it is to become the central framework through which the international aspects of Iran’s system of higher education will be mediated.
