The closing ceremony of the 5th International Painting Festival for Ill Children was held in Budapest, Hungary with announcing the winners of the Festival.

The ceremony was held on November 8, 2019 at the Vigado conference hall of the Hungarian Art Academy in Budapest.

 

At the ceremony, Dr. Nima Rezaei, the Vice Dean of the TUMS School of Medicine and the Director of the festival presented a report on the previous festivals, saying "The first festival was held at TUMS, and in that event, participants from other countries were present”. He continued: “Hungary, Ukraine and Italy hosted the second, third and fourth years of the International Painting Festival for Ill Children respectively”.

 

“This year, as in previous years, more than a thousand paintings from 30 countries were received, reflecting the international acceptance of such a program and the importance of paying attention to mental health”, added Dr. Rezaie.

 

With the aim of fostering a sense of participation in the festival, 11 nominated paintings of each age group were also virtually displayed. These works were also exhibited at more than forty centers in the festival's partner countries. In addition, selected children and adolescents from various countries including India, Hungary, Iran, Slovenia, Romania, South Africa, Turkey, Lithuania, Italy, Venezuela, Mexico, Palestine, Bahrain, Indonesia and Belarus were introduced and honored. At the end, Iran was announced as the host for the next year’s festival.

 

It is worth noting that the inauguration ceremony of the 5th International Painting Festival for Ill Children was held on October 10, 2019 in Tehran.
