TUMS Holds Integrated Graduation Ceremony
The program of the day started at 5 o’clock in the afternoon with a grand exhibition of all TUMS Schools and some of the university’s administrative organization such as the Office of Vice-Chancellor for Global Strategies and International Affairs. Each school and administrative organization had the opportunity to provide visitors with necessary information regarding their current activities, previous accomplishments, future programs, equipment and facilities. This exhibition, which was open to the public, was well received by a great crowd of visitors. Attendance was definitely satisfactory and more than anticipated.
Following a few days of wind and rain, the sky was packed with clouds on Tuesday evening, with typical occasional spring showers forcing the visitors to seek shelter. The organizing committee, however, carried on with its program as planned and around 9 p.m., the students, together with friends and family, gathered in an open-air stadium to start the graduation ceremony. Unfortunately, the weather kept declining and, before long, rainfall was too heavy to continue the program, which included speeches from the university’s officials and an open-air concert.
Nevertheless, the students, undismayed by heavy rain and the cool spring breeze, stood their ground and joyously, in one voice, took their professional oath. Everyone was all smiles as spectacular fireworks brought this ceremony to a cheerful ending.
