In line with developing international cooperation, School of Public Health at Tehran University of Medical Sciences (TUMS) and Faculty of Biology and Environmental Protection at Poland Nicolaus Copernicus University signed an agreement of mutual cooperation on 20 May 2014.

TUMS & Nicolaus Copernicus University Start Academic Collaboration

In line with developing international cooperation, School of Public Health at Tehran University of Medical Sciences (TUMS) and Faculty of Biology and Environmental Protection at Poland Nicolaus Copernicus University, Torun, signed an agreement of mutual cooperation on 20 May 2014.

 

Aimed at increasing academic cooperation, a meeting was held on 20 May 2014 attended by Dr. Akbari Sari, Dean of School of Public Health, Dr. Nekoofar, Director of International Relations, Accreditation and Ranking, Dr. Vatandoost, Vice Dean of International Affairs at School of Public Health, Dr. Krzysztof Szpila and Dr. Marcin Piwczynski from Nicolaus Copernicus University, Torun, and some other school colleagues.

Considering TUMS as a highly distinguished university among other universities in the region, Dr. Nekoofar welcomed signing an MoU with Faculty of Biology and Environmental Protection and emphasized on making the MoU practical. He also suggested that each university presents the logo and link of the other one on its website.

Dr. Akbari Sari also considered TUMS School of Public Health as the scientific pivot of health in the country adding that at present, 20 international PhD students study at the schools and an average of 4.5 papers are annually published in eminent journals by faculty members of the school.  He further expressed readiness for holding joint PhD programs and having joint publications.

The two faculty members of Nicolaus Copernicus University present in the meeting also expressed willingness for improving research and scientific cooperation.  

At the end of the meeting, an MoU for expanding international collaborations was signed between the universities.
