New TUMS Chancellor Introduced

At a ceremony on Sunday, October 8, 2017, held at TUMS Headquarters Main Conference Hall, TUMS officials accompanied Dr. Hashemi, Iran’s Minister of Health, Treatment, and Medical Education in congratulating Dr. Jafarian on all his achievements during the past four years and appreciating his tireless efforts which have made a great deal of development in TUMS reaching its goals. Dr. Jafarian expressed his satisfaction for the current positive atmosphere of the ceremony, and he briefly explained about the achievements of TUMS in the past four years. At the end of his speech, he wished success for the new chancellor.

In the following, Dr. Karimi was introduced as the new chancellor of the university. In his speech, Dr. Karimi stated that TUMS has a significant responsibility towards elite students. In addition, it is required to improve the vocational conditions for the staff of the university which can be solved not only by spending financial resources but also by paying attention to their work and building up mutual trust.

Dr. Hashemi, Minister of Health, Treatment, and Medical Education, stated that Tehran University of Medical Sciences is considered an honor for the country, and it is hoped that this university, as a home to many researchers and scholars, crosses the borders of science and knowledge and remain the most beneficial to people and the society.

The ceremony came to an end by presenting a tokens of appreciation to the former TUMS chancellor.
