TUMS Qualitative Research Methodology Workshop

On Sunday and Monday, July 30-31, 2017, a workshop titled Qualitative Research Methodology was held at the Histology Building, TUMS School of Medicine, presided over by Dr. Effat Merghati Khoei.

This workshop, arranged for TUMS international students, aimed to provide a better environment for introduction of research methods in a different paradigm. Students from different countries such as Ethiopia, Palestine, Nigeria, Pakistan, Iraq, Ghana and Syria participated in this event.

Dr. Effat Merghati Khoei focused her lecture on the following topics: Theory of Qualitative Research Methods, Paradigms and Perspectives; Study Design and Data Collection; In-Depth Interview; Purpose of Qualitative Methods. She explained how to focus on different research methods for different research questions.

During the workshop, there were a few practice sessions, including a discussion on qualitative research methods moderated by Dr. Effat Merghati Khoei.
