On the 25th of August 2014 and during the Fifteenth International Congress of Microbiology, Professor Michel Drancourt (Head of Microbiology Research Center at the University of Marseille, France) had a meeting with the Medical School faculty members, Dr. Feizabadi (Scientific Secretary of the International Congress of Microbiology & Faculty Staff at the Department of Microbiology), Dr. Mirsalehyan (Head of the Department of Microbiology), Dr. Pazhouhi (Consultant to the Dean of School of Medicine, TUMS) and Dr. Nekoufar (Manager of International Relations, Accreditation and Ranking of TUMS).
Meeting with Professor Michel Drancourt during the Fifteenth International Congress of Microbiology

On the 25th of August 2014 and during the Fifteenth International Congress of Microbiology, Professor Michel Drancourt (Head of Microbiology Research Center at the University of Marseille, France) had a meeting with the Medical School faculty members, Dr. Feizabadi (Scientific Secretary of the International Congress of Microbiology & Faculty Staff at the Department of Microbiology), Dr. Mirsalehyan (Head of the Department of Microbiology), Dr. Pazhouhi (Consultant to the Dean of School of Medicine, TUMS) and Dr. Nekoufar (Manager of International Relations, Accreditation and Ranking of TUMS).

 

At start of the meeting, Dr. Feizabadi gave a brief explanation of TUMS and the history of the School of Medicine. He added that the School of Medicine tries to have collaborations with developed countries in order to enhance scientific and international activities.

 

The meeting emphasized importance of joint programs between Tehran University of Medical Sciences and the University of Marseille in France.

 

Subsequently, Dr. Nekoufar emphasized importance of exchanging Ph.D and Post Doctoral Students and also exchanging faculty members for short-term courses between Tehran University of Medical Sciences and the University of Marseille in France.  In this respect, Dr. Michel Drancourt can be appointed as a visiting professor at the school of medicine.

 

In summary, the meeting was concluded by planning a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between the two universities.
