Meeting for Setting Up Nursing and Midwifery Major in Iraq
In a meeting on Monday, April 10, 2017, at TUMS School of Nursing and Midwifery, Dr. Ali Arabkheradmand, TUMS Vice-Chancellor for Global Strategies and International Affairs, mentioning the TUMS Office at University of Sulaimaniyah which was opened on Tuesday, March 2, 2017, discussed the lack of nursing staff in Iraq and the need for setting up the major of Nursing and Midwifery at University of Sulaimaniyah.
Emphasizing the need for assessment and submitting the proposal in response to the needs of University of Sulaimaniyah, he stated that: “We work in a competitive environment and we must continue to establish cooperation and exchanges and move forward according to the needs of this university.”
He also explained that collaboration in research projects, holding academic workshops, summer school and short courses are other cooperative grounds between TUMS and University of Sulaimaniyah. The participating authorities of TUMS School of Nursing and Midwifery declared their readiness to set up further collaborations with this university.
