On the 30th of August 2014 and during the Fifteenth International Congress of Microbiology, Professor Leonardo Sechi (Full Professor of Microbiology at the University of Sassari, Italy) had a meeting with the faculty members of TUMS School of Medicine, Dr. Feizabadi (Scientific Secretary of the 15th International Congress of Microbiology), Dr. Mirsalehian (Head of the Department of Microbiology of TUMS School of Medicine), Dr. Tabrizi (Director of International Relations of TUMS School of Medicine).

On the 30th of August 2014 and during the Fifteenth International Congress of Microbiology, Professor Leonardo Sechi (Full Professor of Microbiology at the University of Sassari, Italy) had a meeting with the faculty members of TUMS School of Medicine, Dr. Feizabadi (Scientific Secretary of the 15th International Congress of Microbiology), Dr. Mirsalehian (Head of the Department of Microbiology of TUMS School of Medicine), Dr. Tabrizi (Director of International Relations of TUMS School of Medicine).


At start of the meeting, Dr. Tabrizi gave a brief explanation of TUMS and the history of the School of Medicine. She added that the School of Medicine tries to have collaborations with developed countries in order to enhance scientific and international activities.


The meeting emphasized importance of joint programs between Tehran University of Medical Sciences and the University of Sassari in Italy. And Both universities can exchange three PhD students per year he added and asked Dr. Feizabadi to cooperate with University of Sassari as a visiting professor.


Subsequently, Dr. Mirsalehian emphasized importance of exchanging Ph.D and Post Doctoral Students and also exchanging faculty members for short-term courses between Tehran University of Medical Sciences and the University of Sassari in Italy.


In this respect, Dr. Feizabadi mentioned that Dr. Leonardo Sechi can be appointed as a visiting professor at the school of medicine. He explained about having workshops and courses by submitting international degrees and certificates.


In summary, the meeting was concluded by planning a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between the two universities.
