Guideline on Acquiring a One-Year Residency Permit for TUMS Students
It is imperative to proceed with acquiring a one-year residency permit after arrival and registration at TUMS:
1. You must proceed with acquiring your one-year residency permit during the first week after your arrival and after finalizing your registration at TUMS.
2. Upon submitting your required documents (see below) to the Visa and Consular Affairs Office on TUMS, you will receive a receipt which should be kept with you during the time that you do not have your passport with you. You can receive your passport after approximately two months.
3. Required documents are as follows:
1. Original passport
2. Two copies of Completed Application form for Residency Permit (should be downloaded from our website, typed and printed out)
Note 1: All fields should be filled out completely both in English and Persian.
Note 2: For occupation please write “student of level in major” (Exp. Student of PhD in Epidemiology).
Note 3: Write your address completely with your mobile number
3. Two photos (3*4) (Passport- style photograph)
4. Three copies of your passport’s information page (first page in size of A4)
5. Two copies of your passport’s ID page (the barcode on your last page of your passport in size of A4)
6. Original paper of your E-type entry visa
7. Payment of 200,000 Rials (20,000 Tomans) by bank card at The Office of Visa and Consular Affairs.
Note 4: To apply for residency permit for your family members who are residing with you in Iran, in addition to the above documents
you need to pay 1,000,000 Rials (100,000 Tomans) for each of them separately and the following documents of student for his/ her family members are required:
1. Two copies of student’s passport’s information page in size of A4 (first page)
2. Two copies of student’s passport’s last residency page in size of A4
3. Two copies of student’s passport’s ID page in size of A4 (the barcode on your last page of your passport)
4. Two copies of Marriage Certificate (for suppose)
5. Two copies of Custody Letter (for children for female students)
Important Note: The process of Residency Permit takes 6-8
Important Recommendation: Upon receiving your one-year residency permit, students must check the validity of the residency and inform the Visa office for any incorrect information.
