Guideline on Acquiring a One-Year Residency Permit for TUMS International Students

In order to facilitate administrative affairs and observe consular regulations, as well as saving your time, it is imperative to proceed with acquiring a one-year residency permit after arrival and registration at TUMS:

 

1. You must proceed with acquiring your one-year residency permit during the first week after your arrival and after finalizing your registration at TUMS.

 

2. Students need to open a file at Visa and Consular Affairs Office of TUMS Directorate of International Affairs and Development.

 

3. Upon submitting your required documents (see below) to the Visa and Consular Affairs Office on TUMS, you will receive a receipt which should be kept with you during the time that you do not have your passport with you. You can receive your passport after approximately one month, upon submitting your receipt and competed form.

  

4. Required documents are as follows:

  1. Original passport
  2. Completed Application form for Residence Permit (should be downloaded from here, typed and printed out) 2 forms

Note 1: All fields should be filled out completely both in English and Persian.

Note 2: For occupation please write “student of level in major” (Exp. Student of PhD in Epidemiology).

Note 3: Write your address completely with your mobile number

  1. 2 Photos (3*4) (Passport- style photograph)
  2. 3 Copy of your passport’s information page (first page in size of A4)
  3. 2 Copy of your passport’s ID page (the barcode on your last page of your passport in size of A4)
  4. Original paper of your E-type entry visa along with a copy your E-type entry visa in size of A4
  5. A copy of Accident Insurance Registration in size of A4 (registration should be done via www.hayateamn.ir)

Payment of 200,000 Rials (20,000 Tomans) by bank card at The Office of Visa and Consular Affairs.

*Note: To apply for residency permit for your family members who are residing with you in Iran, in addition to the above documents for each of them, you need to pay 1,000,000 Rials (100,000 Tomans) for each of them separately and following documents of student for his/ her family members are required:

1. Two copies of student’s passport’s information page in size of A4 (first page)

2. Two copies of student’s passport’s ID page in size of A4 (the barcode on your last page of your passport)

 

Important Recommendation: Upon receiving your one-year residency permit, students must check the validity of the residency and inform the Visa office for any incorrect information.

Important note: Incident insurance coverage is required for all International students on TUMS and other higher education institutions in Iran. International students are required to apply for accident insurance by purchasing electronic accident insurance through the online system. The Hayat-e-Amn Insurance Company is available at www.hayateamn.ir and the provision of consular services to International students will be subject to the issuance of an accident insurance policy.
