Subject: Invitation to Collaborate and Participate – Global Network for Health & Peace (GNHP)

It is with great pleasure to announce that Tehran University of Medical Sciences (TUMS)— with over 90 years of distinguished experience in medical education and healthcare delivery and a leading medical and public health institution in the eastern mediterranean region, has taken the initiative to establish the “Global Network for Health & Peace” (GNHP) to foster international collaboration, knowledge exchange, and collective action. The Office of International Relations of TUMS, serving as the Secretariat of this network, together with the Center of Excellence for Global Health as its hub, is committed to expanding its activities and outreach.

We believe that health and peace are intertwined, no health without peace, and no peace without health. The network aims to bring together organizations, universities, international institutions, researchers, and experts in the fields of health and peace into a shared platform—facilitating knowledge and experience exchange in the contexts of war, conflict, and instability enhancing strategic partnerships and global synergy, promoting evidence-based policymaking, and strengthening health system capacities and resilience.

To inaugurate the work of this network and as its first official milestone, we are honored to host the International Symposium on “Health Systems Resilience in War and Conflict: Preparedness, Response, and Recovery”.

This global event will feature keynote speeches, specialized panels with academics, policymakers at national and international levels, and senior operational managers, focusing on practical strategies to protect and strengthen the resilience of health systems during war and conflict. Considering your organization's expertise, experience and mission in this filed, I am pleased to cordially invite you to join us as an institutional founding member of the GNHP.
