Who is eligible to apply?

International students studying medicine, nursing, dentistry, midwifery, etc.

 

Courses Objectives:

1. To provide participants with an understanding of the importance and definition of systematic reviews, as well as the distinctions between systematic reviews, literature reviews, and meta-analyses.

2. To equip participants with the knowledge and skills needed to conduct a systematic review, including formulating a research question, conducting literature searches, extracting data, and analyzing and interpreting the results.

3. To introduce participants to the PRISMA guidelines and emphasize the purpose and key components of these guidelines in systematic reviews.

4. To explain the significance of registering systematic review protocols, highlighting the process of registration, databases like PROSPERO, and the role of registration in promoting transparency and preventing duplication.

5. To familiarize participants with various registration options and platforms, such as PROSPERO, Cochrane, OSF, and Research Registry, and illustrate the process of registering a protocol through a detailed walkthrough of PROSPERO.

6. To enable participants to develop effective search strategies and utilize Boolean operators and search techniques for systematic literature searches.

7. To educate participants about the purpose, benefits, and functionalities of reference managers like EndNote, Zotero, and Mendeley, and provide hands-on experience in using these tools for importing, organizing, and citing references.

8. To conduct a deep dive into the PRISMA guidelines, using the PRISMA checklist and flow diagram, and engage participants in critiquing a published systematic review based on these guidelines.

9.To introduce participants to Rayyan for systematic reviews, highlighting its purpose, features, and practical tips and tricks for creating a review, importing references, and screening.              

10. To guide participants in structuring and writing a systematic review, as well as understanding the process of selecting a journal and the peer review process for publishing
