Fundamental Nursing Skills (Part 1)

Courses Description:

In this program nursing students will get familiarized with some of fundamental nursing skills and will practice them in skill lab and clinical settings

 

Who is eligible to apply?

BSc Nursing students ,Theoretical course of Fundamental Nursing skills should be passed.

 

Courses Objectives:

Students are expected to get familiarized with:

1.Phlebotomy and getting to know different types of blood collection tubes

2. Serum therapy (Priming, using infusion sets, calculating and administrating the ordered volume of serum, removing the infusion set from the IV port and attaching it, getting to know different types of IV catheters and infusion sets, daily fluid maintenance)

3. Dressing (Simple, open, with drainage, etc.)

4. Assessing the vital signs (basic and digital methods of assessing body temperature, blood pressure, oxygen saturation, pulse rate and respiratory rate)

5. Injection (subcutaneous, intramuscular, intravenous and infusion)

          TUITION FEE

          The total cost for international students for the entire course is $800, which includes $400 for education, $200 for accommodation, and $200 for food. Iranian students from Fenerbahçe University are also required to pay $.200

       Skill lab of Nursing and Midwifery School and Hospitals affiliated with Tehran University of Medical Sciences

    METHOD OF INSTRUCTION

  An exam, in an OSCE setting, will be held to test the aforementioned skills, if trainees can pass the exam; all 10 days of training will be held in the hospital and clinical format and if not 2 days of training will be held in skill lab as compensation and 8 days of it will be in the hospital and clinical format.
