Course  Description:

 

According to the needs and demands of the educational group, modern laparoscopic surgery is one of the training requirements for laparoscopic training and improving the educational level of learners. Considering the increasing demand of physicians for minimally invasive surgeries and to improve the educational level of learners after the basic course of laparoscopy, working on live animals is one of the training requirements.

After passing this course, they will gain coordination between hand, brain and eye, which is the introduction of laparoscopic training. Then they should participate in laparoscopic surgeries as observers to gain the necessary skills

  • In the area of knowledge: considering the growth of laparoscopy education, knowledge, attitude and skills should match books and articles related to laparoscopy.
  • In the area of skills: Nowadays, it is evident that laparoscopic operations are impossible without skills.  The best way to learn laparoscopy and acquire skills is to attend laparoscopy workshops.

Who is eligible to apply?

Having a certificate of completion of specialization in the field of general surgery or gynecology or urology

 

Course  Objectives:

  • The purpose of organizing short-term professional courses is to improve the academic level and skills of graduates of medical sciences universities to meet their professional needs and update their knowledge and skills as well as familiarize with the materials and the new topics that are included in academic topics.
  • It should be considered that the certificate of participation in these courses are not equivalent to the university degrees.

General aspects of laparoscopy (theory), Hand-eye coordination (letters of the alphabet-ring), Veress needle and trocars, laparoscopy with two hands on moulage, cautery (theory), instrumentation, learning different types of laparoscopic knots and tying, moving organs, repair of intestinal or bladder injuries by needle thread, cautery, vascular hemostasis after dissection by clips, working with ligature and dissection
