TUMS Faculty Member Joins Worldwide Insecticide Resistance Network
Professor Hassan Vatandoost, a senior medical entomologist and vector control specialist with over 24 years of experience in training and research in the field of vector biology and control as well as insecticide resistance and management has recently become a member of the Worldwide Insecticide Resistance Network.
Professor Vatandoost is the Head of the Department of Medical Entomology and Vector Control at TUMS School of Public Health. He is also currently a member of the WHO Vector Control Advisory Group (VCAG) and has served as a WHO temporary advisor in many WHO consultations and meetings. He has authored 30 books and 276 scientific papers including many articles on insecticide resistance.
In his own words, such memberships by faculty members in different international organizations "indeed serve to elevate the position of the university in different corners of the globe."
