| About the Center |
The 'Knowledge Utilization Research Center' began its work in 2006 under the title of the 'KTE Study Group' in the 'Center of Academic and Health Policy' of Tehran University of Medical Sciences. In 2008 it was approved as a research center by the Ministry of Health and Medical Education KURC was recognized as excellence center of 'Evidence-Based Decision Making,' and this improved the organizational capacity for doing duties.
The 'Knowledge Utilization Research Center' aims to produce knowledge, localize it, and promote strategic directions, modalities and efforts that lead to the better utilization of knowledge. The goal of this center is to create change in health decision makers' (people, health service providers, managers and policy makers) behavior, i.e. to make decisions on the informed by evidence, and to make enabling environment.
It’s a source of pride for me to say from all of the colleagues: at KURC we have guiding principles which are very crucial as follow.
In orientation:
We are responsive to people health challenges, with the focus on the outcome and impact of our work.
Our center is not just seeking publication; we think that knowledge is a social construct and must be produced and used through a deliberative process.
In process:
We are accountable for whatever KURC entitled to; the responsibilities assigned, time and resources all are from public assets.
We do our best to be sure no one leaves behind; we are seriously taking care of equity in the entire work environment, strategic direction and subject of study.
This center does not belong to anybody. It is for everybody, who respects and believes KURC mission and guiding principles, regardless of their organizational ties and they place of resident.

Working with the Knowledge Utilization Research Center provides access to a highly specialized environment with extensive expertise in knowledge translation, implementation science, and research impact.
