Call for PhD Student Study Mobility to the University of Granada (Spain)
About The Programme
Erasmus+ International Credit Mobility (ICM) under Key Action 1 (KA171) supports short-term exchanges between higher education institutions in Programme and Partner Countries. This call is part of an ICM project awarded to the University of Granada (UGR) for 1 August 2024 – 31 July 2027 and is implemented in partnership with Tehran University of Medical Sciences (TUMS).

Mobility period: Must be completed by 31 July 2027; expected to take place during the 2025–2026 academic year (spring semester) in line with UGR’s academic calendar. Exact dates will be agreed between the selected candidate and UGR.

Eligibility / Admission Requirements

Must be a TUMS PhD student and enrolled at least in the second year of study at the time of mobility.

Must not have completed more than 7 months in total of previous Erasmus+ or Erasmus Mundus mobilities.

Language: B1 level in Spanish or English is preferred. For PhD students, a formal language certificate is not strictly required if the working language for the mobility is agreed in advance with the proposed UGR supervisor; however, evidence of sufficient language ability will strengthen the application.

Academic requirement: Candidate must be willing to enroll at UGR for at least 8 ECTS credits (or the equivalent workload agreed with UGR) and arrange recognition of credits with TUMS before/after the mobility (via a Learning Agreement or equivalent).
Funding

The grant contributes to travel and subsistence costs. Approximate amounts (per UGR project document): 850 EUR/month for subsistence for students in Spain plus a distance-based travel contribution. Exact grant amounts and payment procedures will be announced in the internal call documents. The grant may not cover all costs; candidates should budget for possible shortfalls.

Nomination and Further Procedure

After internal selection, TUMS will nominate the selected candidate to UGR by sending a signed/stamped nomination letter and the candidate’s passport copy to UGR’s Mobility Unit. The nomination must be accompanied by documentation of the selection process (call text, selection criteria, ranking, minutes and final list) for audit purposes.

Nominated candidates will complete UGR’s online application and upload required documents (passport copy, research plan signed by supervisor, etc.). UGR will confirm acceptance and provide further instructions.
