Program Description:
The field of Midwifery consists of a series of theoretical and empirical training courses. Training committed and skilled workforce with the ability to provide specialized obstetric services in various fields of health, education and research, with a community-oriented approach, is the main mission of the program. This program was first launched in 1984 at Tarbiat Modarres University, Tehran, Iran.
Objectives:
Specific Competencies and Skills
At the end of the program learners will be competent in the following skills:
- Providing midwifery and reproductive health services (health, education and care)
- Conducting research projects in the field of midwifery and reproductive health in the educational and research centers
- Implementing educational programs in the field of midwifery and reproductive health in the educational and research centers
- Providing consultancy, planning and management services in the field of midwifery and reproductive health in the health care, educational and research centers
- Interpreting the pregnancy test results
- Providing health education concerning sexual and reproductive health
- Providing traditional and contemporary family planning methods
- Providing screening services for breast, cervical, and other genital tract cancers
Admission Requirements
General Requirement: To apply for this program, you will need to fulfill a number of requirements, which can be found in the Graduate Admission Requirements.
Specific Requiremetns: Holding a Bachelor’s degree(B.Sc.) in Midwifery or Nurse-Midwifery received in Iran or abroad
The eligible candidate should have successfully completed an approved related Degree program and should be proficient in English or Persian.
Admission Deadline
Tehran University of Medical Sciences has a rolling application system and reviews student applications all year round.
However, the deadline for the September intake is June 31.
