Program Description:
Immunology as a medical Sciences branch has had marked development in parallel to all other parts of Medicine. Immunology Science Developments and more Information about Human Defense Mechanism have made this Science a Core model in diagnosis the Causes and nature of a wide spectrum of diseases. On the other hand, study of Diseases originated from Immune System Disorders or Incompetence with the pictures of Immunodeficiency, Allergy, Autoimmunity, cancer… had been effective in illustrating the complexity of Immune System.
During recent Decades and with development of Fellowship and Subspecialties Courses and increasing numbers of researches and published Articles in Immunology and Allergy, training of competent physicians for Prevention, diagnosis and treatment of related diseases of has become of great importance. We hope that with more attention to appropriate place of this subspecialty in National comprehensive scientific Map and evolving correct connection between Basic and Clinical Medical Sciences Specialists, with Provision of development of this science up to frontiers of Knowledge, individual and community health promotion will be achieved.
This current Curriculum is the result of at least 6 months’ hard work of Scientists and Experts in this field, comprising a wide spectrum of Immunology and Allergy Diseases from childhood to adulthood.
Objectives:
Training of Competent, Knowledgeable, liable subspecialists for service provision and Continuous Health Promotion through Diagnostic, Therapeutic, Preventive, Educating and Researching and Science Production Fields of Clinical Immunology and Allergy.
Specific Competencies and Skills (At the end of the program learners will be competent in the following skills):

• Autoantibody Test
• Delayed Hypersensitivity Tests
• Simple Spirometry
• Exercise respiratory Test
• Bronchodilator Respiratory Test
• Nasal Smearing and Eosinophils Measurement
• IGE Measurement (serum specific,total)
• Immunoglubin Measurement
• NBT
• Isohemagglutinin Measurement
• CH50 Measurement
• Flocitometry Measurement
• PCR
• Blood Smear preparation
• ELISA
• C3/C5 Measurement
• Chemotaxis test
• IVIG injection
• Pulmonary function test
Duration:
program lasts at least 36 months (full-time).
Admission Requirements
General Requirement: To apply for this program, you will need to fulfill a number of requirements, which can be found in the Graduate Admission Requirements.
Specific Requiremetns: Degree in General Physicians (M.D) or Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (M.B.B.S.) by one of the Iranian or foreign universities.
Having and approved specialty in Pediatricians, Internal Medicine
The eligible candidate should have successfully completed an approved general physician program and should be proficient in English or Persian.
Admission Deadline
Tehran University of Medical Sciences has a rolling application system and reviews student applications all year round.
However, the deadline for the September intake is June 31.
