Program Description: 

Cardiovascular Specialty and Subspecialty Training Programs are mainly about Prevention, Treatment, Post interventional or post treatment Care.

Regarding High Probability of Mortality and Morbidity due to cardiac diseases, in recent 3 decades, there has been a special Attention to these courses in the world and likewise in our Country, resulting in magnificent changes in these courses including changes in management as well as technology and Facilities.

The first Curriculum in this subject had been written in 2006 with 3-5 years revision plan .This current curriculum is the revised version, produced in 2012.

 Definition

Cardiology is a clinical training Program concerned about Prevention, Diagnosis, Management, Care and Rehabilitation of Adults with Cardiovascular diseases and will provide Educational and specialtysubspecialty Health Services and Researches for the Community.

Objectives:

At the end of the program learners will be competent in performing following procedures:

ECG

ETT

Holter ECG Holter BP

Programming & Analysis of Pacemaker and Defibrilator 

Electrical Cardioversion & Defibrilation 

Tilt  test 

Cardiopulmonary  Resuscitation 

Echo-doppler (TTE)

Transe esophageal Echo cardiography 

Pericardiocentesis 

Temporary Pacemaker 

Electrophysiological Study 

Interventional Studies

Right and Left Catheterization 

Coronary vessels Angiography 

Transplanted Vessels angiography of  Bypass

Duration:

Duration Subspecialty is 3 years.

 

Admission Requirements

General Requirement: To apply for this program, you will need to fulfill a number of requirements, which can be found in the Graduate Admission Requirements.

Specific Requiremetns: Degree in General Physicians (M.D) or Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (M.B.B.S.) by one of the Iranian or foreign universities.

Having and approved specialty in Internal Medicine.

The eligible candidate should have successfully completed an approved general physician program and should be proficient in English or Persian.

Admission Deadline

Tehran University of Medical Sciences has a rolling application system and reviews student applications all year round.

However, the deadline for the September intake is June 31.
