Program Description:
This is a subset of Internal Medicine which is about renal Diseases and is about nephrology diseases such as acute or chronic renal failure, acid/base & water /electrolytes imbalances, hypertension, dialysis, kidney transplants.
the aim of training competent, knowledgeable, liable subspecialists for service provision and continuous improvement in diagnostic, therapeutic, preventive, education and research fields of nephrology.
Objectives:
At the end of the program learners will be competent in the following skills:
Kidney Biopsy
Femoral Vein Catheterization
Jugular Vein Catheterization
Catheterization for Pertitoneal Dialysis
Kidney Sonography for determining the size and site of Biopsy
Duration:
Course duration is 24 months
Admission Requirements
General Requirement: To apply for this program, you will need to fulfill a number of requirements, which can be found in the Graduate Admission Requirements.
Specific Requiremetns: Degree in General Physicians (M.D) or Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (M.B.B.S.) by one of the Iranian or foreign universities.
Having and approved specialty in Internal Medicine.
The eligible candidate should have successfully completed an approved general physician program and should be proficient in English or Persian.
Admission Deadline
Tehran University of Medical Sciences has a rolling application system and reviews student applications all year round.
However, the deadline for the September intake is June 31.
