Program Description:
The PhD Program in Health Services Management is designed to provide opportunity for students to learn fundamental skills in the core areas of health systems including the nature of the organization of health care services (i.e., production, delivery, access and utilization), healthcare management, health policy and health economics with a specific focus on management. This includes main goals and functions of management in healthcare (e.g. stewardship, financing, payment, resource generation, planning, organization, leadership, monitoring and evaluation). The program is also specifically designed for those seeking a broader sense of knowledge and skills of healthcare management to improve health and healthcare in the community.
The primary objective of this program is
- to provide students with a thorough overview of selected topics in the field of health management;
- to acquaint graduate students with the current knowledge and work in the field of health management
- to prepare them for serious research in health management.

- Understanding how to strengthen and reorient healthcare services for effective prevention, control and management of diseases, and how to measure accessibility to services

Admission Requirements
General Requirement: To apply for this program, you will need to fulfill a number of requirements, which can be found in the Graduate Admission Requirements.
Specific Requiremetns: Holding a master's degree (MSc) in one of the fields of Hospital Management or Health Services Management or A Doctor of Medicine (MD), a Doctor of dentistry(DMD), a Doctor of Vet Medicine (DVM) received in Iran or abroad.
The eligible candidate should have successfully completed an approved related Degree program and should be proficient in English or Persian.
Admission Deadline
Tehran University of Medical Sciences has a rolling application system and reviews student applications all year round.
However, the deadline for the September intake is June 31.
