Health Services Management

Program Description:

The PhD Program in Health Services Management is designed to provide opportunity for students to learn fundamental skills in the core areas of health systems including  the  nature of  the  organization  of  health  care services  (i.e.,  production,  delivery,  access  and utilization), healthcare management, health policy and health economics with a specific focus on management. This includes main goals and functions of management in healthcare (e.g. stewardship, financing, payment, resource generation, planning, organization, leadership, monitoring and evaluation). The program is also specifically designed for those seeking a broader sense of knowledge and skills of healthcare management to improve health and healthcare in the community. 

The primary objective of this program is

• to provide students with a thorough overview of selected topics in the field of health management;
• to acquaint graduate students with the current knowledge and work in the field of health management
• to prepare them for serious research in health management.
