Program Description:
Children's skin diseases include diverse and specific skin diseases such as eczema, allergic disorders, bacterial, fungal, parasitic and viral skin infections, congenital diseases, cutaneous manifestations of internal diseases including metabolic, rheumatologic, genetic syndromes and immunodeficiency disorders, etc. The difference in the nature of the manifestations, the different characteristics of the treatments and the specific needs of this population group has motivated a group of dermatologists in the past few decades to focus on diagnosis, treatment, education and research on skin disorders in children such that currently this field is being taught as a subspecialty or fellowship course in many valid scientific countries.
In our country, due to its young population and grand strategy of an increase in the population growth, the need for this field has been felt more than before. Accordingly, in 2015, the national program for development of children's dermatology fellowship was put on the agenda of the committee that was formed for this purpose. This program was completed in due time, approved and later handed in to the related universities for implementation. This committee welcomes the valuable opinions of the experts in this field to revise its programs. We hope that this program can promote education, research, diagnostic and therapeutic services for children's skin disorders.
