Program Description:

Students who complete the program will be very well-prepared to pursue careers in a variety of settings. Our graduates are currently working as academic researchers in departments of Psychology and Psychiatry, practicing clinical psychology in academic medical settings, tertiary psychiatric centers, community mental health centers, and private practice.

 Our main aim is to set the standard for Excellence in Clinical Psychology through the integration of clinical practice, research and teaching. The graduates will be well equipped with a large variety of training and research resources. They acquire a good knowledge of theories, research methods, history of clinical psychology, and capability in assessing and interpreting clinical psychology tests.  The major goals of the Doctoral Program in Clinical Psychology are first, to extend  knowledge of the field of Clinical Psychology; second, to train students to conduct and evaluate empirical research; and finally, to train students to acquire competence in clinical assessment, interviewing and intervention.

  • Assessing and providing treatment services for the hospitals and  communities
  • Teaching, supervising and monitoring with regard to evidence-based therapeutic modalities
  • Researching on  causes, assessment, and treatment of psychological disorders
  • Interpreting psychological test results
  • policymaking, planning, and organizing

Admission Requirements

General Requirement: To apply for this program, you will need to fulfill a number of requirements, which can be found in the Graduate Admission Requirements.

Specific Requiremetns:  Holding a master's degree (MSc) in Clinical Psychology received in Iran or abroad

The eligible candidate should have successfully completed an approved related Degree program and should be proficient in English or Persian.

Admission Deadline

Tehran University of Medical Sciences has a rolling application system and reviews student applications all year round.

However, the deadline for the September intake is June 31.
