Program Description:
This course provides physiotherapists an overview of common problems of the ankle such as ankle injuries and chronic ankle instability. Different aspects of physiotherapy protocols to return to functional abilities will also be discussed in details.
Objectives:
- Ankle functional anatomy
- Ankle functional biomechanics
- Types of ankle injuries, Ankle sprain, Functional instability, chronic instability
- Prevention of ankle injuries
- Diagnosis (clinical, functional, electro diagnosis, MRI, Musculoskeletal Ultrasonography)
Ankle rehabilitation (Electrotherapy, therapeutic exercise, taping & splinting, manual therapy, dry needling, dynamometry, proprioception training, functional exercise)
