Program Description:

Establishing a relationship between medicine and dentistry is an important feature of oral and maxillofacial medicine dental specialty, which leads to promotion of the society’s level of health and  treatment of   patients with special needs. Orofacial pain is a common complaint, however, since there is no separate field regarding orofacial pain, these patients can not be successfully referred. When this group of patients seek help from doctors and dentists, incorrect diagnosis and treatment often leads  them to have additional health problems due to the prescription of inappropriate drugs. Based on the points mentioned, the planning of the country should be in such a way that it solves the lack of presence and efficiency of orofacial pain specialists in universities, hospitals and dental clinics .
