E-learning in Medical Sciences (Online)

Program Description:

The growing demand for student-centered and more flexible educational programs along with the Covid 19 pandemic, has led to the popularity of e-learning extensively.In turn, the success of this approach is very dependent to skillful e-learning professionals.

Postgraduate study in the field of eLearning/digital education has been offered for years in many universities worldwide, meanwhile programs that focus on medical and health related fields are not very abundant. Tehran university of Medical Sciences is one of the pioneer universities to offer this subject and the e-learning department is honored to be the Center of Excellence for E-learning in Medical Education in Iran.

Students pursuing this MSc degree will obtain the knowledge and skills needed to plan, design and facilitate e-learning opportunities in medical and health related fields as well as conducting related research projects.

Mode of Delivery

Asynchronous and synchronous classes and academic activities through related software (there is no need to travel to Iran).

Note: Online enrollment does not contradict with studying other disciplines, i.e.  the student can simultaneously study another major in Tehran University of Medical Sciences or other Universities.

Objectives:

 At the end of the program graduates will be competent in:

• Acting as teacher in courses/workshops related to e-learning in medical and health related fields
• Participating in the design of e-learning software such as Learning Management Systems (LMSs) and collaborative learning tools
• Providing consultation in instructional design for e-learning
• Implementing e-learning in various contexts in related fields
• Designing and development of electronic educational contents
• Evaluating e-learning programs and courses
• Consulting educational institutions, stakeholders, researchers and teachers with regard to e-learning issues
• Collaborating in the design and implementation of research projects with regard to e-learning in medical and health related fields
