Program Description: 

Proper nutrition is a fundamental requirement for human beings. Improper nutrition, coupled with insufficient or excessive intake of nutrients, can increase the incidence of non-communicable diseases. Such diseases include obesity, thinness, cardiovascular diseases, osteoporosis, endocrine disorders, various types of malnutrition, immune disorders, digestive problems, and metabolic disorders, which can also lay the groundwork for the occurrence of cancers. The importance of this will double in the field of diseases, and patients need to adjust proper diets according to their conditions, so that in addition to receiving current treatments, they can be cured in this way. The purpose of creating this course was to achieve this specific goal. The drafting committee will welcome

 

Definition: 

Clinical nutrition is a branch of the field of nutrition science, the purpose of which is to adjust proper diets and provide appropriate nutritional counseling to patients in hospitals and hospital clinics.

 

Objectives :

In compiling this program, the following values are emphasized:

•  Health-oriented and health promotion

•  Improving the quality of life

•  Giving importance to the nutritional needs of patients and interfering with current treatments

•  Considering the practicality of the suggested diets

• Considering the side effects of nutritional supplements in underlying diseases and disorders   

Admission Requirements

General Requirement: To apply for this program, you will need to fulfill a number of requirements, which can be found in the Graduate Admission Requirements.

Specific Requiremetns:  Holding a Bachelor’s degree (B.Sc.) in nutrition science, received in Iran or abroad

The eligible candidate should have successfully completed an approved related Degree program and should be proficient in English or Persian.

Admission Deadline

Tehran University of Medical Sciences has a rolling application system and reviews student applications all year round.

However, the deadline for the September intake is June 31.
